Kerouac is an original rock band. I suppose that's something of a contradiction in terms, as it is often said that there isn't a speck of originality left in any form of art, let alone the overbuilt suburban sprawl which is rock. They do (mostly) play songs that they wrote, at least. The lineup is that tired cliche of two guitars, bass and drums. They take their name after a dissolute drunk from Brendan's hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts, who claimed to be a poet. One supposes that their use of this name is an attempt to claim some artistic pretensions of their own.
The lineup is:
Robert McGregor - Drums
Mike "Machine Gun" Whitaker - Bass, Vocal
Niall King - Guitar, Vocal
Brendan Quinn - Guitar, Vocal
Robert hits things with great abandon
Michael has a romantic soul
Niall believes in structure
Brendan likes noise
They met in London, and rehearse in London, Peterborough, and Reading at high volume so as to be heard in all three places at the same time.
